Beauty Buzz: What’s MSM?

If you are reading this blog post it’s probably because you are a beauty junkie like we are here at Mantra Mask. We love knowing about the latest and greatest.

So… have you heard of MSM?

If not, you will soon. IT IS AMAZING. And of course, Mantra Mask’s formulator Hal Simeroth has already incorporated it into Mantra Masks. He’s always one step ahead of the game.

What is it?

I pretty much fell in love with MSM once I read this:

“MSM helps make the skin cells more permeable, and therefore more absorbent and receptive to plumping and hydration… It has a brightening and luminizing effect on the skin overall when applied topically”– Naturalnews.com

Um hello, that is what I am going for here, plumped, hydrated and LUMINIZING!

If anyone threw out a compliment to me using any of those words they’d pretty much be my best friend.

Apparently, the reason it is such good skin food is that it is a pure organic sulfur. The official name is (MethylSulfonylMethane), also known as DMSO2 (Dimethylsulfone).

MSM is found in all plants and tissues. The high sulfur content does pretty fantastic things like inhibit the breakdown of collagen, reduce inflammation, smooth wrinkles and fight acne. Yes, please!

You can take it as a supplement (I wonder if you can add it to wine or coffee?), or put it on topically.

So if you haven’t already, make sure you are getting this “beauty mineral” in your beauty rotation beauty junkies!
