Can we just take a moment and talk about Jennifer Aniston turning 50 years old?
Yes, FIFTY. FIVE – OH.
Our “Rachel” could join AARP.
And you know what, she’s freakin’ FABULOUS!
I am 45 and to see her at 50 makes me want to keep working hard, eating right, just being my best because I think she just keeps getting better and better. I love seeing women older then me age well – it’s the ultimate aging inspo!
Listen, I know she has the best of everything at her fingertips and people always want to bring that up to explain her agelessness. I mean wouldn’t we ALL look like her at 50 if we had the best trainers, lots of spa trips, top beauty products, healthy chefs at our fingertips? Actually NO. She works at it. But what does she do exactly?
So I started trolling her on the Internet and finding out how she is aging so WELL. You are welcome ladies.
– Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. She says this over and over in so many articles. Jen also starts off the day with hot water and lemon to alkaline her body.
– Sleep! She says good sleep is one of the biggest factors in keeping herself at the top of her game.
– Mix up the workouts. Yoga and boxing have been Jen’s most long standing workouts but she likes to mix it up all the time. A favorite class is Spin Yoga. She says she likes to create “muscle confusion”.
– Super healthy eating. Protein smoothies, lentils, fish, all the good stuff. She’s always been pretty strict about her eating and loosened up the last few years, but still stays away from white starchy food. “Just fruits and vegetables and healthy lean proteins and water.”
This one is particularly important to us: She masks! She told Elle in 2015 that she likes to put on a mask, especially on a long European flight. Wonder if she’s Mantra Mask-ed? Jen, If you are reading this, we’ll send one over.
Of course what I love even more about Jen is that she keeps it straightforward and simple. I love what she said to Yahoo Food: “My general philosophy is to eat healthy. It’s pretty clear: Eat as much organic fruits and veggies as you can, keep sugar [intake] low, drink tons and tons of water, and get good sleep.” That’s a great philosophy anyone can keep to.
The most resounding comments about Jennifer Aniston in all of the articles didn’t have to do with her beauty regime or diet.
More importantly than the superficial stuff, she seems to just really LOVE LIFE and she is very loved by all around her.
Every article, quote from a friend, a co-worker, etc. comments on how she is the LIGHT IN THE ROOM.
Yes, she has had a charmed life but also a messy one. Parents divorced early, estrangement from her mom, a very public and painful divorce from Brad Pitt (I would age ten years if my husband left for me Angie in front of the WORLD), and a more recent divorce too. So she has had a Hollywood Star life but it hasn’t been the easiest. Yet still she is positiveand grateful. Ding ding ding… two of the most important words for aging gracefully I would say.
Also – I love that she laughs A LOT. She is funny, she likes to be around funny people (Jimmy Kimmel vacations with her) and we all know she has the best comedic timing. Laughing has to keep you young.
I’ll leave you with the words her EX husband said about her on her 50th, inspiration for sure! She’s some kind of special to have her ex still adore her.
“Happy Birthday to this fierce Woman. Fiercely loving. Fiercely kind… and fiercely funny.”
HBD Jen, next stop: show us how to rock our 50s!
